Overview

New Era^® Education ("the App") is a companion remote control application developed for New Era Cap Company. The App is designed to be used in showroom and retail environments to control a desktop display over a local network. This privacy policy describes how the App handles information.

Information We Do Not Collect

The App does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. Specifically, the App does not:

• Require user accounts, login credentials, or registration
• Collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or other personal identifiers
• Access contacts, photos, camera, microphone, or location services
• Use advertising identifiers (IDFA) or any advertising frameworks
• Include third-party analytics, crash reporting, or tracking SDKs
• Track user behavior, usage patterns, or browsing activity
• Transmit any data to third-party services for analytics or advertising purposes

Information the App Uses Locally

The App stores a small number of user preferences on the device using standard iOS settings. These include:

• Target display name — the name of the desktop display to connect to
• Language preference — the selected content language
• Inactivity timeout — duration before the app resets to the home screen

These preferences are stored locally on the device only and are never transmitted to any server.

Network Communication

The App communicates over the network in two ways:

• Local Network (LAN): The App discovers and connects to a companion desktop application on the same local Wi-Fi network using Bonjour (mDNS) service discovery and WebSocket communication. This communication occurs entirely within the local network and does not traverse the internet. No personal data is exchanged — only display control commands (e.g., page navigation, media playback controls).
• Content Server: The App retrieves product catalog content (text, images, and video) from a server operated by New Era Cap Company. These requests fetch display content only and do not include any personal information or device identifiers.

Local Network Usage

The App requires Local Network permission on iOS to discover and communicate with the companion desktop display application. This permission is used solely for the purpose of controlling the display over the local network. No data from the local network is collected, stored, or shared.

Data Sharing

We do not share any data with third parties. The App does not collect data, so there is no data to share.

Children's Privacy

The App does not collect personal information from any users, including children under the age of 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the effective date at the top of this document.
